VIDEO: Stephen Fry reaffirms his love for the Irish with this message for Seachtain na Gaeilge

Stephen Fry

When it comes to plámásing, nobody does it quite as well as Stephen Fry.

Far from being one of these people who says one thing and behaves in the exact opposite way, when Stephen Fry says he loves the Irish he really means it.

From his guest appearance on Ros na Rún to his firecracker of an interview with Gay Byrne for The Meaning of Life, Fry’s continued association with Ireland makes him more popular here than, arguably, in any other country in the world.

The actor and presenter has recorded a piece for RTÉ ahead of the Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations, which run between 1 March and St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th.

Beginning with a cúpla focail, it’s a reminder of what Irish culture and history means to people who have no direct association with the country.
