TG4 are looking for new stars for one of the station’s most iconic programmes

21 seasons in and still going strong, Ros na Rún will soon return to TG4 for a 22^nd season and the station is looking for aspiring and actresses to join its cast. An array of new actors are being sought by TG4 to fill a number of roles, including a male aged 20-25, a male in his 30s, a female in her late 20s or early 30s and various other characters. Those who think they have what it takes must be Irish-speaking (obviously) and are invited to apply to take part in a series of auditions which will take place in An Spidéal in Galway on March 9 and 10. Budding actors and actresses interested in a role in the series are asked to apply for an audition by emailing a CV and recent headshot to leiriuchain@rosnarun.com. Broadcast twice weekly on TG4 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8.30pm with an omnibus on Sundays at 10.30pm, Ros na Rún employs over 140 people and attracts 150,000 viewers per week. It has long been renowned for tackling challenging issues including drug addiction, adoption and fostering and featured the first ever gay kiss shown on screen in Ireland back in 1996. Commenting on the auditioning process, series producer Deirdre Ní Fhlatharta said: “We pride ourselves on showcasing some of Ireland’s most talented actors and actresses on Ros na Rún. “We are always on the lookout for fresh talent and we look forward to attracting exciting new characters and ideas to the series. The gripping finale of Season 21 of Ros na Rún is fast approaching, and we’re currently preparing for the dramatic opening of Season 22 which returns in September.
