Title, cast and plot details for The Boys spin-off revealed

Rory Cashin

The new show features stars from The Staircase, Bridgerton and – most excitingly – Cruel Intentions!

We’re just a week removed from the season finale of The Boys, and we’re already suffering from withdrawal symptoms. While it will likely be at least a year before the fourth season arrives – and we’ve already spent some time guessing what that will be about – before then, we’ll likely be getting the show’s first live-action spin-off.

While we already got the animated series The Boys Presents: Diabolical – which was totally slept on and deserves to be revisited by anyone who loves the main show and would like some plot blanks filled in – next up we’re going to be getting Gen V.

That is the official title of the new spin-off, as announced by the cast on The Boys’ social media channels on Friday:

The cast includes Lizze Broadway (Bones), Chance Perdomo (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Jaz Sinclair (Slender Man), Shelley Conn (Bridgerton), Maddie Phillips (Supernatural), London Thor (Shameless), Derek Luh (Shining Vale), Asa Germann (Caviar), Patrick Schwarzenegger (The Staircase), Sean Patrick Thomas (Cruel Intentions) and Marco Pigossi (Tidelands).

The show’s official synopsis is as follows:

“Gen V an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger Games – with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.”

Taking place within the walls of America’s superhero-only college, which has been set up by Vought International themselves, there is no set release date for Gen V just yet, but considering the show is already heavily into its production at this point, don’t be surprised to see the first episode arrive on Amazon Prime Video around Christmas or New Year’s.
