Spoilers, Colin Farrell and more spoilers

Much like the raison d’etre for Detectives Cole and Hart, there are fans of the superb occult thriller True Detective that need to have their mind for curiosity and intrigue satisfied.

If you haven’t seen Nic Pizzolatto’s ground-breaking show then we strongly encourage you to do so. It’s superb.

JOE can talk for hours on end about that one tracking shot that took place during the middle of the shoot-out. Are we right True Detective fans?

Lets put the geeky love in aside for a moment because you’re here for one thing and one thing only. Juicy details.

Last warning for a spoiler-free zone.

Apparently, the new season will involve dead bodies, S&M, and the seedy side of America’s transportation system.

Moviepilot claims to have the plot synopsis and it reads as follows:

The season is due to kick off with the dead body of a corrupt politician being found along the Pacific Coast Highway with satanic symbols carved into his chest. California Highway Patrol officers Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch are assigned the case. It turns out the victim is a known associate of Vince Vaughn’s character and this dead man had a dark side involving some associations with S&M clubs – but perhaps most importantly, the man was in the middle of brokering a big deal that would solve the state’s gridlock problem

Vaughn’s character is described as a “career criminal” who wants to get away from a life of shady crime by getting involved with a “high-speed railway system for California,” while Rachel McAdams is a sheriff “who has a different set of ethics” than the corrupt Farrell and recovering Taylor Kitsch.

Police officers, dead bodies, corruption, the occult and rampant sex.

Now this sounds like True Detective but once again treat these rumours with more caution than Rust would do when he’s playing with those beer cans.
