Long Shot – BBC One – 12am

Thoroughbreds – Channel 4 – 12.05am
Our pick for tonight is this 2017 black comedy thriller about the friendship between two teenage girls in the US (played by Anya Taylor-Joy and Olivia Cooke), one of whom wants to kill her stepfather (Paul Sparks).
The debut movie from writer-director Cory Finley (who also made the excellent films Bad Education and Landscape with an Invisible Hand) and co-starring the late and great Anton Yelchin, Thoroughbreds’ incredible performances, its stylish direction and its twisted and twisty screenplay make it well worth seeking out.
Holding an 87% Rotten Tomatoes score, Thoroughbreds is also available to rent on Apple TV, Google Play, Rakuten TV and the Sky Store. Check out its trailer right here:
