A severely overlooked ’90s action film is among the movies on TV tonight

Stephen Porzio

trespass

Written by the makers of Back to the Future and from the director of 48 Hrs and The Warriors, this movie needs more love.

Prime Video has just added 50 big movies to its library, but if you need more – here are the films on TV this Saturday evening:

The Italian Job – Film4 – 9pm
A fun American remake of the classic 1969 British heist film.

Hard Target – Legend – 9pm
Jean-Claude Van Damme uncovers a sinister group of wealthy men who hunt the homeless for sport in this action film that was Face/Off director John Woo’s first English-language movie.

The Lawnmower Man – LegendXtra – 9pm
The ’90s sci-fi horror with Pierce Brosnan that was very, very loosely based on a Stephen King short story – so loosely in fact that it led to a lawsuit.

Die Hard 2 – RTÉ2 – 9.15pm
Bruce Willis returns in this terrific airport-set sequel to Die Hard.

The Talented Mr. Ripley – TG4 – 9.30pm
The beloved ’90s adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s psychological thriller novel of the same name starring Matt Damon.

The book will also be getting a TV version soon on Netflix starring Andrew Scott.

Infinite – Channel 4 – 9.30pm
This 2021 sci-fi action flick starring Mark Wahlberg has a low 17% on Rotten Tomatoes, which means you may want to avoid it.

Ice Cube and Ice-T in our pick for tonight – Trespass

Reservoir Dogs – Dave – 10pm
Quentin Tarantino’s legendary directorial debut about a robbery gone wrong.

Piranha – Comedy Central – 10pm
The very fun and gory horror remake from 2010.

Kiss the Girls – MTV – 10.05pm
Morgan Freeman is on the hunt for a serial kidnapper in this first big screen adaptation of James Patterson’s Alex Cross series of books.

Death Wish 3 – ITV4 – 10.35pm
The third entry in the vigilante action thriller series starring Charles Bronson.

Three Faces – BBC Four – 10.40pm
This Iranian drama from 2018 has a 98% Rotten Tomatoes score.

Trespass – Legend – 11pm
Our pick for tonight is this 1992 action movie about two firefighters (played by Bill Paxton and William Sadler) who venture into gang-controlled territory to find gold that’s been hidden inside an abandoned building.

However, when the pair witness a murder, they become the targets of a crime lord (Ice-T) and his underling (Ice Cube).

Written and directed by Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis (the Back to the Future trilogy) and directed by the great Walter Hill (48 Hrs, The Warriors), Trespass blends a great premise with dynamic filmmaking – resulting in a mean-and-lean action thriller.

Trespass is also available to rent on Apple TV+, Google Play and the Sky Store. Check out its trailer right here:

Alien: Covenant – Film4 – 11.10pm
The most recent Alien movie – until Alien: Romulus comes out next year.

Rambo – Channel 4 – 11.30pm
