In terms of the potential spinoffs that HBO are currently working on, we already know that a pilot for Jane Goldman’s script is already in the pre-production stage and that it’s set to be filmed later this summer.
Namoi Watts will be playing the leading role and while details about the plot are scarce, we know that the show takes place “thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.”

However, in terms of the other spinoffs that HBO are developing, we’ve already offered some insight into what we’d like to see but let’s throw a spanner in the works, who would like to see a rom-com featuring Tormund, Brienne, and everyone’s favourite Direwolf, Ghost.
Jon Snow can make a few cameo appearances as he tries to be Tormund’s wingman.
Just imagine it, Tormund and Brienne go on a first date where Mr. Giantsbane tries to woo Brienne with stories about he once breastfed from the nipples of a giant, talk about that time he once slept with a bear – remember that one? – and eat cold meat as he lovingly gazed at her.
What’s not to love?
After Brienne gave into her lust and had sex with Jaime Lannister, the Kingslayer broke her heart shortly after by deciding to return to King’s Landing and be with Cersei.
We all knew that Tormund – despite being ‘a mad fucker,’ to quote The Hound – cared more about Brienne as seen by this remarkable conversation between him and The Hound in Season 7.
Tormund: I have a beauty waiting for me back in Winterfell… if I ever get back there. Yellow hair, blue eyes, tallest woman you’ve ever seen. Almost as tall as you.
The Hound: Brienne of Tarth.
Tormund: You know her?
The Hound: You’re with Brienne of fucking Tarth.
Tormund: Well, not with her yet. But I see the way she looks at me.
The Hound: How does she look at you? Like, she wants to carve you up and eat your liver?
Tormund: You do know her.
The Hound: We’ve met.
Tormund: I want to make babies with her. Think of them, great big monsters. They’d conquer the world.
The Hound: How did a mad fucker like you live this long?
Well, despite the fact that Brienne is now Commander of the Kingsguard for Bran the Broken, Christie has left the flame burning for any hopes of a Tormund and Brienne romance.
Speaking with Indiewire, she said: ““Yeah, maybe he has a chance, but she would really make him work,” said Christie. “I mean, you know, she’s landed her dream job. Also, the story about the giant’s milk might take a little bit of getting over. But maybe not.”
We’re not going to get involved with Brienne’s love life but we will give her one piece of advice. When the Battle of Winterfell was about to begin and death matched on the walls of House Stark, Tormund only had one question to ask…”the big woman still here?”
Now that’s a man that you can trust.
Just try to forget about any stories where Tormund is breastfeeding from the nipples of a giant!
