#TRAILERCHEST: Will Ferrell stars in The House, one of the biggest comedies of the summer

JOE

Welcome to #TRAILERCHEST, where we’re looking at the red band trailer for The House

Plot’s it all about?

All bets are off in what looks to be one of the funniest films of the year – Andrew J. Cohen’s directorial debut The House. It stars Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler as Scott and Kate Johansen, two suburbanite parents who decide to open a Vegas-style casino in their basement after blowing their daughter’s college fund.

Encouraged by their friend Frank (the brilliant Jason Mantzoukas), they encounter strippers, gambling cheats and flamethrowers in their quest to underground casino greatness, all in the name of funding their beloved daughter’s tuition.

The film relies on the absurdly high college fees in America, with the parents needing to come up with $50,000. As extreme as that sounds… have they ever tried to find student accommodation in Dublin?

The film is Cohen’s first as director but he previously worked with co-writer Brendan O’Brien on smash hit Bad Neighbours, while producer Adam McKay has worked with Ferrell on comedy classics like Anchorman and Step Brothers.

With the film looking like another addition to the list of hilarious Ferrell-led comedies, we can’t wait until it drops this summer.

Starring: Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, Jason Mantzoukas

Directed By: Andrew J. Cohen

Release Date: June 30

Enjoy…
