In an illustrious acting career that includes Home Alone 2 and episodes of Sabrina The Teenage Witch and The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, perhaps the pinnacle of said career would have been playing the President in a Sharknado movie.
Accoring to The Hollywood Reporter, a contract was drawn up and sent to Trump's lawyer, Michael D. Cohen.
That would be the same Michael D. Cohen who is currently under investigation in connection to that pesky Russian inquiry.
Anyways, before long David Latt, the co-founder of Asylum, the production company that make Sharknado (as well as other modern classics such as Transmorphers, Snakes On A Train and Sunday School Musical), got word from Cohen:
"Donald’s thinking about making a legitimate run for the presidency, so we’ll get back to you. This might not be the best time."
Fair enough, these things happen. One day you're gonna be in Sharknado, the next day you running for President.
So the company moved on, and hired Mark Cuban to play the part of the President instead, and the NBA team owner rocked it (you can check him out getting off the elevator with that Beverly Hills 90210 dude in the clip below):

However, Trump wasn't happy.
He apparently wasn't going to play the President, but it look like he didn't want anyone else to play it, either. Latt continued:
“Then we immediately heard from Trump’s lawyer. He basically said, ‘How dare you? Donald wanted to do this. We’re going to sue you! We’re going to shut the entire show down!'”
So there you have it. That is a thing that happened. Enjoy the rest of your day.
