Gogglebox is back.

TV3 have confirmed five new homes for the new series of Gogglebox Ireland that gets underway this week, but they are keeping the details tightly under wraps until the first episode airs on Wednesday night.

All the station are prepared to reveal so far is that the new homes are located in the counties of Cork, Clare, Mayo, Wicklow and Laois, where they’ve been more specific and identified the county town of Portlaoise as the location of one of the homes in the new series.

The new homes, which were selected after an exhaustive search that kicked off with over 3,000 applications, will be revealed over the course of the next few weeks, starting with the first one on Wednesday night.

They’ll do well to make as much of an impression as the Tully twins from Cavan last time out…

Commenting on the households that will be part of a new series, Simon Proctor, Series Producer of Gogglebox Ireland said: “We’re thrilled to welcome our five new households to join our expanded Gogglebox Ireland family.

“Representing a great geographical and social mix, our new Goggleboxers will bring us even more unique insights into the week’s telly along with many of our original cast – they let us into their homes, switch on their kettles and pick up their remote controls.”

Series 2 of Gogglebox Ireland airs on TV3 this Wednesday, February 8, at 9pm.
