It was inevitable really, but it has finally happened. Joe Duffy’s Liveline show on RTÉ Radio 1 now has it’s own official Twitter account.
We have a feeling that in the past week, the lads in Liveline probably realised there are not enough actual phones in Ireland to deal with the onslaught that was the Garth Brooks controversy.
So with that in mind, RTE Radio 1’s Liveline has decided to embrace social media and has joined the mass ranks on Twitter under the handle @Liveline_RTE.
We’re not sure how his listeners will be able to vent their collective spleens in less than 140 characters, but we look forward to the attempts. Is Joe going to read them out on the radio?
“We have a tweet in here from a pensioner in Carlow saying ‘Dear Joe, today at the post office, as I was buying some stamps, I was horrified to see that the man behind the counter was wearing a big…’ Well yet again our listeners don’t seem to have grasped the 140 character limit and now we’ll never know what the man behind the counter was wearing.
