Metástasis is a new show about a cancer stricken high-school chemistry teacher who turns to methamphetamine to make some quick cash. It’s Breaking Bad, but in Spanish.

Forget Walter White; Walter Blanco is the newest drug lord in town. The producers behind the record breaking TV series Breaking Bad are looking to tap into Spanish speaking markets with a Colombian remake of the show called, Metástasis. Here’s the promo…

JOE’s Eoghan Doherty recently sat down with none other than Vince Gilligan, who revealed that Metástasis has already recorded the sixth episode. You can read more about that over here.

In case you’re wondering and you’re too lazy to look it up, ‘metastasis‘ is the scientific term for the spread of a cancer from one organ or part to another non-adjacent organ or part.

According to various reports over the past week, Metástasis will be pretty similar to Breaking Bad with only slight differences throughout the series. So far we know that the main characters will be called Walter Blanco, Jose Miguel Rosas (Jesse), Cielo Blanco (Skyler) and Henry Navarro (Hank).

So if you’re sad to see Breaking Bad come to an end then you better start learning Spanish…
