You might need to let your imagination run a little riot to grasp what’s going on here but it’s an interesting idea all the same.

The last show of the current series of Republic of Telly aired earlier this week and having provided us with plenty of laughs and humorous sketches over the past few months, they went out with a bang on Monday night. We often don’t pay too much attention to the meaning behind song lyrics, particularly ones from the 80s as there were a lot of weird songs in that decade. As if to prove the point, the Republic of Telly crew acted out literal interpretations of popular tunes from the era like ‘Sweet Child of Mine’, ‘Do You Really Want to Hurt Me’ and of, course, the Starship classic ‘We Built this City on Rock and Roll’ with pretty amusing (and sometimes disturbing) results. See ye next season guys. Video via YouTube/RTE Republic of Comedy
