We know a lot of you probably like this song so before watching, be warned: this is bad beyond belief.
Of all the Christmas songs you’re likely to hear on repeat over the next few weeks, there’s a good chance that Mariah Carey’s version of ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ will get more airtime than any other.
It’s nice and lively and very festive and for some reason around these parts, on nights out it’s a signal for groups of friends to gather on the dance floor with arms around each other, singing away before awkwardly separating from one another once again when the song is finished.
Mariah performed the song live at the Rockefeller Center in New York last night in front of the NBC cameras and let’s just say she can’t quite hit the incredibly high notes she could when the song was originally released in the mid ‘90s.
Since the performance, footage has emerged of Mariah’s unedited, isolated vocals and, well, it ain’t pretty.

Obviously, it wouldn’t have sounded as bad with a backing track but still, that was more like how everyone else sounds while singing it after a few pints at the Christmas party.
Ouch.
