Video: Ron Burgundy sang a special song for Toronto mayor Rob Ford on Conan last night

And in case you’re wondering, yes there was a jazz flute solo.

It must be tough being Rob Ford right about now. Having been subject to public humiliation for admitting to having smoked crack and having been forced to deny allegations of sexual harassment and that he has a drinking problem, pretty much everyone is calling for the Toronto mayor to step down, not least after he knocked over a female councillor in City Hall earlier this week.

If that wasn’t bad enough, he was parodied by none other than Ron Burgundy in an appearance on the Conan O’Brien show last night, with Ron singing a song in his honour, his campaign song no less, Working for the Weekend by Canadian band Loverboy.

Although he had a few gentle digs at him too, Ron expressed his support for Ford throughout the performance and if anyone knows anything about going through some tough times, it’s Ron Burgundy…
