Video: The new Setanta documentary focusing on referees looks excellent

It’s called ‘Men In Black’ and it starts on Setanta tonight at 9pm.

Referees are a different breed it seems. Many people wonder what possesses someone to become a referee when they are always going to be at the end of abuse from one side or another. This new Setanta documentary focuses on four different refs from different sports. It features Alan Kelly (soccer), David Coldrick (Gaelic Football), Barry Kelly (hurling) and Alain Rolland (Rugby).

Each episode features a different ref and tonight’s episode kicks off with soccer ref, Alan Kelly. Here’s a little taster of what’s in store:

It looks like a fascinating insight into one of the most thankless jobs in sport and we are really looking forward to seeing it. Here’s another trailer for the whole series:
