Now what you hear is not a test, he’s rapping to the beat
The Sugar Hill Gang’s hit tune ‘Rapper’s Delight’ is often regarded as the song that really allowed rap to get on to mainstream radio and go from strength to strength from there, so it makes perfect sense that it should be all over the news…sort of.
Together with co-anchor Lester Holt, NBC’s super-serious news anchorman Brian Williams raps along to the famous tune, and thanks to some fairly spiffy editing skills from the crew at Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, the result is absolutely seamless and truly hilarious.
If they had a backing tune, or maybe even a rap battle on the news on a regular basis, that would really shake things up, we might suggest that to Sharon and Dobbo.
