You can expect some star-studded ads at this year’s game.

The Super Bowl is set to take place this weekend, which means you can expect a whole host of star-studded ads and movie trailers to air during the game.

Ahead of the clash between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, one Super Bowl advertisement has hit the web and sees Mike Myers reprise his role as famous Austin Powers villain Dr. Evil.

Also featuring returning characters in the comedy franchise played by Mindy Sterling, Rob Lowe and Seth Green, the funny clip is from General Motors and centres on the car manufacturer’s goal to reduce its carbon footprint.

In the ad, Dr Evil is seen taking over the company and coming up with a plan to help save the world from climate change so that he can ultimately take it over.

Filled with callbacks to the Austin Powers trilogy, the ad can be watched below:

Meanwhile, another ad for American wireless network operator Verizon will air during the Super Bowl and will feature Jim Carrey reprising his role from comedy-thriller The Cable Guy.

The 1996 film directed by Ben Stiller saw Carrey play Ernie “Chip” Douglas, an eccentric cable installer who becomes obsessed with one of his customers.

While the movie received mixed reviews upon its release, it has gone on to be considered a cult classic.

Ahead of the full Super Bowl ad dropping, Verizon released a teaser in which Carrey can be heard saying:

“Humanoids have long felt the need to escape the rigours of life through streaming content.

“And it is I, only I, who possess the necessary skills to fulfill that need.”
