WATCH: Trailer for 13 Reasons Why Season 3 kills a main character
The controversial show is coming back.
Hannah Baker's story is not yet done, despite 13 Reasons Why beginning after her suicide. Though the show was released to massive popularity, it has earned serious criticisms for its handling and depiction of self-harm and suicide.
On Thursday, Netflix dropped the first trailer for the third season, and it looks like the show is veering into a whole new direction.
"Here’s the thing about the kids at Liberty High," a voice-over with an English accent says. "They’re connected by their secrets. Connected and forever changed. The truth is, given the right circumstances, the right motivation — anyone could have done this."
It looks like Season 3 will be a murder mystery, dealing with the death of Bryce Walker, the character who sexually assaulted Hannah Baker before her suicide. The trailer seems to suggest that anyone and everyone is a suspect. It also directs anyone watching to a website: whokilledbrycewalker.com.
The new series will air on Netflix on 23 August.
