Liam Gallagher has revealed that he attempted to reform the original Oasis line-up without his brother Noel – but the others members didn’t want to be involved.
The Mancunian group evolved from an earlier band called The Rain, made up of Paul McGuigan on bass guitar, Paul Arthurs on guitar, Tony McCarroll on drums and Chris Hutton on vocals.
Noel joined shortly afterwards on guitar, vocals and as chief songwriter. Unsatisfied with Hutton’s singing, Arthurs invited and auditioned Noel’s brother Liam Gallagher as a replacement and the rest is history.
The band went through a number of line-up changes until they ultimately split in 2009, and now Liam has revealed that he made attempts to reform the original four-piece, however, the other members declined.
One of Gallagher’s Twitter followers spurred the conversation, asking:
“If the old crew from Oasis first line-up wanted to reform with just you, would you?”
I did ask them and they weren't up for it

Liam replied “I did ask them and they weren’t up for it.”
However, all may not be as it seems – as original member Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs chimed in suggesting that this may not have been the case.

Gallagher’s comments came amidst a lengthy rant he posted on his Twitter profile subtweeting his brother Noel.

Liam was getting his digs in at brother Noel, whose band, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, have been the opening act for U2 concerts 21 times and once for the Red Hot Chili Peppers (RHCP).
Upon being asked by a Twitter follower would he consider having Noel perform with him as a support act, Liam replied:
”I wouldn’t have that diva nowhere near me i mean he’s got a few good tunes but his demands are just vulgar”
