Aslan’s Christy Dignam sang an incredible live version of ‘Crazy World’ on the streets of Killarney

Aslan

A stunning impromptu gig. Absolutely love this.

Over the past few years, Aslan singer Christy Dignam has championed himself as a man of the people because as we’ve frequently seen, the beloved singer isn’t afraid to talk about the issues that matter to him.

There was his memorable appearance on Cutting Edge with Brendan O’Connor when he articulately called for the decriminalisation of drugs in Ireland and his involvement with the Apollo House movement.

Aside from this, it also helps that as a musician, his songs and albums are still adored by the public. On that note, as hard as it is to fathom, Aslan’s debut album,Feel No Shame, was released 30 years ago this year. Feeling old?

Anyway, before Aslan’s date at Listowel Town Square in Kerry on August 11, the singer got a little bit of practice in after belting out his iconic track, Crazy World, for everyone to hear on Plunkett Street, Killarney.

Joined by Liam O’Connor, it appears that word of Dignam’s impromptu performance spread online and it’s an absolute cracker.

Take a look.

Here he is.
