Eagles of Death Metal have released their first statement since the events of last Friday night at Le Bataclan in Paris.
The American band have cancelled all shows indefinitely as they recover from the attack on the concert venue. Band associate Nick Alexander, selling merchandise at the show, was among those killed.
““Our thoughts and hearts are first and foremost with our brother Nick Alexander, our record company comrades Thomas Ayad, Marie Mosser, and Manu Perez, and all the friends and fans whose lives were taken in Paris, as well as their friends, families, and loved ones,” the band wrote.
They immediately began receiving responses from fans who had been at the venue, including one who had been wounded by the gunmen and lost friends in the slaughter.

Some of the responses came from people who had been at the concert.
Maxime Dourlens wrote: “They tried to kill me and my wife while dancing in front of our favorite band, thankfully they failed. We saw what no one should have to see. Our thoughts are with everyone who lost their lives and their relatives. The healing can now begin, and it starts with listening to EODM again. Peace, Love and Death Metal.”
Claude Pfeiffer was wounded in the attacks and lost friends. He wrote: “Hello I was there in The Bataclan, I have the chance to be just wounded, some friends are dead, it’s hard to realize that horror, especially when I remember how the first part of the show was very good and there was a so good atmosphere in the place, in a few seconds it was hell on earth ! I hope you will in the next years come back to Paris, we have to win against fear and violence ! I love your music !”
