Electric Picnic announce line-up for comedy tent

Electric Picnic

Electric Picnic’s comedy tent is looking unmissable.

Irish comedy trio – and viral sketch sensations – Foil, Arms and Hog are set to cap a very successful year with a headline slot at this year’s EP.

Ireland’s biggest festival announced the line-up for its comedy tent on Thursday afternoon, and there are some major stars to see, including David O’Doherty, Jason Byrne, and Father Dougal himself, Ardal O’Hanlon.

Also on the bill is Tony Cantwell, famous for his culture-defining “Meanwhile at Clongowes” viral video. Since then, Cantwell has sold out shows at the Sugar Club and continued to smash it with his online presence. Definitely not to be missed.

Daniel Sloss is fresh from a captivating performance at Dublin’s Vicar Street, as well as releasing a Netflix special, so the tent will surely be packed for the young Scotsman’s set.

Other heavyweights you can see at the end of the month include hip-hop comedian Abandoman, Lords of Strut, Deirdre O’Kane, Fred Cooke, Maisie Adam and Paul Currie.

EP 2018/2019 will also see the return of festival favourites like Fr. Damo, Joe Rooney, Savage Eye, John Colleary, Danny O’Brien, Gearoid Farrelly, Republic Of Telly star Kevin McGahern, voiceover king John Lynn and Tommy Tiernan’s latest support act Julie Jay.

The full card is bolstered by a host of upcoming talent. Enough to keep you laughing for the whole weekend, under the supervision of MC Karl Spain.

Electric Picnic urged people to look out for strong sets from EP debutants Ger Staunton, Shane Clifford, Conor Drumm, Anna Clifford, Paul Marsh, Mark O’Keefe, Aoife Dooley, Naomi Cooper, Ryan Cullen, Colin Chadwick and internet star, Bernard Casey.
