Foo Fighters have released a teaser for a new song, their first since the death of the band’s drummer Taylor Hawkins last year.

On Wednesday, the rock outfit posted a 13-second snippet of a track featuring a pacy guitar riff and pounding drums. The new music was included in a video consisting of just a white background as the words: “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” faintly fade in and out.

The enigmatic teaser has left fans wondering if an announcement regarding more new music or an upcoming album from the US rockers is imminent.

Previously, Foo Fighters revealed that they would continue as a band following Hawkins’ death. The 50-year-old drummer passed away on 25 March 2022 in Bogotá, Colombia as the group were touring South America.

In a statement confirming their decision to continue as a band, the rockers said:

“As we say goodbye to the most difficult and tragic year that our band has ever known, we are reminded of how thankful we are for the people that we love and cherish most and for the loved ones who are no longer with us.

“Foo Fighters were formed 27 years ago to represent the healing power of music and a continuation of life. And for the past 27 years, our fans have built a worldwide community, a devoted support system that has helped us all get through the darkest of times together. A place to share our joy and our pain, our hopes and fears, and to join in a chorus of life together through music.

“Without Taylor, we never would have become the band that we were – and without Taylor, we know that we’re going to be a different band going forward.”
