It was a brilliant performance.

Hozier’s live performances are always quite incredible.

His version of Arctic Monkeys’ ‘Do I Wanna Know?’ has three million views on YouTube, and is one of the best covers from BBC One’s Live Lounge series.

So it’s no surprise to us that he gave an exceptional performance on The Ellen Show on Tuesday.

He performed the song ‘Nina Cried Power’ alongside Mavis Staples, and it went down a treat.

Have a look for yourself:

It wasn’t a bad couple of days for the Irish on The Ellen Show in general.

On Monday, Ciara Delaney, who has been living in San Diego for the past two years was invited on stage to answer a few fairly simple questions, and she ended up walking home with $10,000.

Hozier’s EP, also titled Nina Cried Power, was released just over a month ago and already has fans clamouring for new music from the Bray man.

The EP is only four songs in length and Hozier himself says that Nina Simone was a major tribute for the project.

He has said in the past that this was just a “small taste” of what’s to come on his upcoming full-length album.

We can’t wait.
