These lads on a stag do belted out an absolutely perfect version of The Whole of the Moon

So good that The Waterboys even approve. Cracking.

A few months ago, nearly every single person in Dublin could hear Brandon Flowers belting some tunes out as The Killers gave another brilliant performance at the RDS. Well, one of the highlights of that night was their version of The Waterboys classic, The Whole of the Moon.

Despite the fact that it’s 33 years old, the song is showing no signs of losing its popularity and why would it? It’s an absolute belter but it’s not a track that you would naturally think of singing with your mates after a few pints – mainly because it needs a driving beat and, well, there’s plenty of lyrics to memorise.

Alcohol + fun + stag do = singing. This being said, massive credit to Adam Cafferty and Michael Bourke for remembering every single and beat of the Waterboys classic.

As reported by the Liverpool Echo, the lads were attending their friend Jimi Murphy’s stag do.

Adam said: “Me and Michael have been performing for years, we went in the first pub and saw a piano and we both rushed over to it. We sung the Whole of the Moon because it’s Jimi’s favourite song and we had all the lads singing along. After that we did another half hour or so singing and had quite a crowd by the end.”

This version is so good that The Waterboys star Mike Scott even called it “magnificent.”

Everton ‘keeper Jordan Pickford also gave this brilliant version his seal of approval.

Gents, if you’re heading on a stag do soon and fancy belting out a tunes, the bar has been raised.
