Check out our picks for this weekend’s music festival in Wicklow…

Knockanstockan Independent Music and Arts Festival is the place to be for music fans this weekend. It’s the eight year of the festival in Wicklow and this year’s line-up is the most exciting the organisers have put together yet.

JOE loves music and because we are the soundest people in the country, we’ve put together a quick list of artists you must see at Knockanstockan this weekend.

Elastic Sleep

Cork based Elastic Sleep are doing dream-pop as well as anyone at the moment. Their debut EP ‘Anywhere’ was a treat and this single ‘Leave You’ is one of the best you’ll hear this year.

Liza Flume

Liza Flume has one of the most beautiful voices in the country and she’s an artist you just have to hear live. Those vocals along with some beautiful acoustic guitar playing will leave you in a very good place, definitely one to see.

Enemies

Enemies are one of our favourite bands in the country, people described their sound as ‘math-rock’ and we think they are the perfect festival band. Their album ‘Embrace, Embark’ was released last year and it’s class so make sure you check them out…

Booka Brass Band

Booka Brass Band are Ireland’s first ever New Orleans style brass band. When you think of New Orleans, you probably think of dancing and having loads of fun and that’s exactly what these guys will give you. It’s sure to be a great show, who doesn’t love a good sax-solo…

The Altered Hours

Some of JOE’s musical friends, yes we have friends, says that The Altered Hours are the best live band in the country and we tend to agree. The intensity they bring to their shows will blow you away and we guarantee if you see them, you won’t regret…
