JOE’s Song Of The Day #774 – Rumi ‘Moi’

Eric Lalor

Rumi

A fine debut from Rumi.

Julianne Murray, known by her stage name Rumi, is an Irish singer and songwriter whose love affair with music has led her onto the stage of venues up and down the country.

In her previous guise as A Dream, The Night, who have featured on JOE in the past, Rumi honed her craft and musical style but says that she’s gone down a bit of a different road with her latest effort.

“‘Moi’, as a song is a bit different to what I had been doing in the past,” Julianne says.

“I got much more dancey with it; I had been listening to a lot of Mall Grab and Toro Y Moi at the time (Hence the name!). To me, the song sounds dreamy but with funky punches; it’s something you can stick on when you’re socialising with friends or on a night-time car journey.”

‘Moi’ is a very slick and polished production and if you’re a fan of electronic alternative pop music, this will be right up your street.

You can keep posted on any Rumi developments via her Facebook page right here.
