Rising Irish star Cian Ducrot is back with another pop gem.
Cian, if you haven’t heard of him already, is from Cork but based in London and it’s an environment that is clearly inspiring his work.
He dreamed up the lyrics to this number while sitting on the tube in London. It’s a bright, summery, catchy tune, but it’s about a break-up.
We’ll let Cian take it from here.
“‘Chewing Gum’ was an idea that came one day when I was sitting on the tube, listening to a breakup song where the singer slags off the other person,” he says.
“I was so sick of hearing songs do that, so I decided I wanted to write the opposite. I just wanted to make something fun and lighthearted without placing any blame and that’s what we did!”
So, there you have it. Rarely has a break-up sounded so positive and uplifting!
