LISTEN: JT’s new single ‘Supplies’ sees him working with Pharrell for the first time in 15 years

At least the video is good…

If you can remember back to JT’s first solo album Justified, you’ll remember that Pharrell Williams (producing as part of The Neptunes) was one of the creatives behind killer songs like ‘Senorita’, ‘Like I Love You’ and ‘Rock Your Body’.

Due to some label issues, Timberlake and Williams weren’t allowed to make sweet music again, which is why the majority of his albums since then – FutureSex/LoveSounds, The 20/20 Experiences Part One and Two – were produced by Timbaland and Danja.

However, in the years since those label issues have cleared up, which means JT’s upcoming album Man Of The Woods is being produced by Timbaland, Danja and The Neptunes.

We’ve already had first ‘Filthy’ single, and now we’ve got the follow-up, ‘Supplies’, produced by Pharrell, and… well…

That isn’t great, is it? The lyrics of the song are about Timberlake crossing paths with an attractive lady on the street and being her knight in shining armour, but the visually impressive story seems WAY more politically charged than that.

Even that aside, we’d expected the long-time-coming reunion to result in a song much catchier than this.

Out of the 16 tracks on the new album, 9 of them are co-produced by Pharrell. Here’s hoping one of them is better than this.
