The banjo-playing hipsters that are Mumford & Sons have finally confirmed that rumours of a summer gig in the Phoenix Park are true.

The lads will headline the outdoor gig in the Phoenix Park, Dublin, on Sunday 14th July… Now, for some of you out there, that date will already be set aside for the Leinster Senior Football Final, so if you’d like to see both, you’re going to have to choose… Hate that.

Mumford & Sons will be backed by Ben Howard, The Vaccines and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros on the night. Here’s a gander at the latest poster to be released.

According to 98FM, The Killers are also expected to headline at the Phoenix Park during the summer, while talks with Justin Timberlake are still ongoing. In fairness, we wouldn’t be too disappointed if he didn’t show up.

Last year, two people died and 40 others were injured in random knife attacks at the Swedish House Mafia’s gig in the Phoenix Park. So security for the upcoming summer gigs is sure to be heavily beefed up.
