The elder Gallagher sibling wants a solo record from his former bandmate.

Noel Gallagher says he was sad to see Beady Eye break up recently and feels that his younger brother Liam should put out a solo record.

Speaking to Q, Noel revealed that the rest of the band were in shock when Liam called time on his new band in October.

“I’m amazed Liam has chucked it in, but he won’t stay out of the limelight for long. I think Liam should make a solo record – put his balls on the line, put his name up in lights and go for it.”

“I’m very…sad about Beady Eye,” he continued, “because I know they really wanted to make it work. I wanted it to work for them. I was out with Gem Archer the other night. The vibe I’m getting is that it was a shock, although not completely surprising.”

The two Gallagher brothers are tentatively back in contact for the first time since Oasis split up in 2009, although any reunion will not happen soon as Noel’ High Flying Birds release their new album Chasing Yesterday in March.
