Performing naked and Dirty Dancing chat-up lines: JOE spins the Tombola of Truth with Lords of Strut

"starts losing breath then I'd kick him in the gill"

Eric Lalor

Tips on why fighting a shark on land is not as daunting as it might be.

You might well have come across some previous Tombola of Truth episodes on the site before, but just in case you haven’t, here’s the drill.

We have 50 questions to hand, conveniently numbered 1-50, our interviewee picks a number using our wonderful purple and yellow tombola and then we ask the corresponding question. Simple.

confused

This week we caught up with World Street Performing Champions from Ireland, Lords of Strut.

The Lords of Strut are in the middle of a nationwide tour this summer which takes in the length and breadth of Ireland, the UK and further afield.

JOE: Can you name 10 Father Ted priests?

Lords of Strut: Father Stone, The Dancing Priest, The Spinmaster, Father Damo, Dick Byrne, The Laughing Priest, Bishop Brennan – I didn’t make it unless the three main characters of, Ted, Jack and Dougal are included which I don’t think they should be.

JOE: Have you ever been naked in public?

naked

LOS: Yes lots, and very close regularly, always performing. I don’t mind very much but it would help to have a huge d**k.

JOE: If you could send one person to the moon, who would it be?

LOS: Someone really nice who is just about to die anyway.

JOE: The age-old dilemma – would you rather fight a shark on land or a gorilla in under water?

kicking

LOS: Shark on land. I’d just keep moving till he starts losing breath, then I’d kick him in the gill.

JOE: Best/worst chat-up line?

LOS: Guy: Hey babe, wanna do some dirty dancing? Girl: No. Guy: Can I Patrick Perswayze you? Girl: Yes you can.

JOE: What’s your protocol regarding the snooze button on an alarm?

snooze

LOS: I keep snoozing.

JOE: Who, in your opinion, is the most Irish person alive?

LOS: David O’Doherty, the new Irish who are really just a representation of the previous generations.

Lords of Strut are in the middle of a nationwide and world tour with their latest show Chaos. You can see the dates and venues here.
