Simon Cowell has hit out at Niall Horan over his solo single

Don’t listen to him, Niall, he’s only bitter.

Simon Cowell has had a cheeky dig at Niall Horan this week after the One Directioner from Mullingar dropped his debut solo single This Town.

For those of you who don’t keep up with the ins and outs of Niall Horan’s music, the 23-year-old is pursuing his solo career on a separate record label to the one through which all of One Direction’s music is released.

One Direction are signed to Simon Cowell’s Syco Records, but Horan has decided he wants his solo stuff put out by Capitol Records.

According to the Sunday Mirror, Horan’s decision seems to have touched a nerve with music mogul Cowell who said: “He probably would have had a No 1 single if he’d stayed with me. But you know who does have a No 1 this week? James Arthur. Very pleased he’s back with us with a fantastic record. Hashtag loyalty.”

Yeah, he seriously said hashtag loyalty.

If you haven’t heard Horan’s new single yet, you can check it out below:
