This amazingly-cool Spotify map shows when two people play the exact same song at the exact same time… anywhere in the world

There's a map for that...

Paul Moore

In the words of Daft Punk, “Around the world, around the world”

JOE has always wondered if there was anyone else in the world listening to the Saw Doctors at the exact same moment that we were.

The good people at Spotify have now helped answer this question by launching this fantastic new feature called ‘Serendipity’, a program that shows you when any two people in the world are listening to the exact same song at the exact same time.

Apparently, millions of people hit play on the same track within split seconds of each other and this feature can instantly detect when and show you where in the world it’s happening. It really is fascinating stuff and strangely hypnotic.

If the map lands on a song that you like then just hit the play/pause button and enjoy the tune. In the last five minutes JOE has jumped from Alt-J, Weezer Nicki Minaj, Nirvana, Katy Perry, Jason Mraz , Pharrell and, to our own personal favourite, the Spice Girls.

We are an eclectic bunch. Try it for yourself here.
