Ticketmaster reveal the “best” Irish gig of 2017

Were you at it?

It takes a special kind of act to play Croke Park, and Coldplay certainly have enough bangers in their repertoire to justify their spot on Ireland’s biggest stage (no matter what anyone says).

Coldplay’s Headful of Dreams concert at Croke Park in July of this year was voted the “Ticket of the Year” in a survey conducted by Ticketmaster – making it the most popular concert of 2017.

Of course, one of the issues might be that because Croke Park is Ireland’s biggest venue, it stands to reason that more people would be voting for the concert that happened there, but it’s still a pretty nice accolade for the band to pick up.

And it wasn’t as if Coldplay didn’t have any competition in 2017. Guns N’ Roses Slane Castle performance failed to overtake the Fix You-merchants, coming in third place behind Electric Picnic.

According to Hot Press, just outside the top three was Dublin’s own U2 with their Croke Park gig.
