Tupac lyrics made a surprise appearance at a Christmas carol service
The incident happened in Sri Lanka.
A Christmas carol service has accidentally supplied the lyrics of Tupac Shakur's Hail Mary instead of the traditional hymn.
According to The Guardian, one of Sri Lanka's biggest carol services, Joy to the World 2016, had the lyrics from the rapper's 1997 release.
The Hail Mary opens with,
"Makaveli in this … Killuminati, all through your body. The blows like a twelve-gauge shotty."
Reportedly, only a few church-goers noticed that the lyrics to Hail Mary were that of the original, but the few Tupac fans in the congregation were stunned at the discovery.
Andrew Choksy, a man who attended the holy service, spoke of finding the lyrics.
"A lot of people around us were in shock as to whether it was a joke, or if someone would actually rap the song...
"A few of the older ladies in front of us could not stop looking at the printed booklet.
“No explanation was given [by organisers] at all...They didn’t acknowledge it at the venue.
"To be honest, I don’t think many people saw the booklet at all. The people that realised were shocked at first but then took it in good humour around me."
Pictures Andrew took have been circulating around the internet and the mix up is quickly going viral.
