Reason #372 why Dave Grohl is a hero…

Over the last few days, JOE has seen quite a fair few celebrities take the ALS ice bucket challenge in a bid to raise awareness and funding for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

The one thing that Eddie Vedder, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ryan Tubridy et all have in common, apart from their honourable intentions to help this cause, is that they lack a little bit of showmanship.

The latest attempt by the Foo Fighters is our favourite one yet because they go all out to copy that famous prom scene from Brian DePalma’s 1976 horror classic ‘Carrie.’

The film is a classic but, for those who haven’t scene it, the final act can be best summarised by this maths equation. Bucket filled with blood + dropped on angry girl with telekinesis = bad.

The Dave Grohl led-band have gone all out in their version with Grohl playing Carrie in full prom queen dress while drummer Taylor Hawkins is her date, Tommy.

Guitarists Pat Smear and Nate Mendel are the two students who drop the bucket of pigs blood onto Carrie’s head.

Take a look.

The Foos recently announced that their new album ‘Sonic Highways’ will be released on November 10.

To say that JOE are fans of Dave Grohl would be an understatement. He has experience wearing a dress before you know?
