If the crowds we saw at Longitude, Indiependence and Electric Picnic this summer were anything to go by, Hozier is probably the biggest Irish artist in the country at the moment. We witnessed thousands and thousands of fans belting out every lyric and singing along in time with the ‘Take Me To Church’ star.
Hozier’s popularity in Ireland is unquestionable but he made a massive statement in the UK today after knocking it out of the park on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge with Fearne Cotton. He played a number of his own songs and, in Live Lounge tradition, he played a cover version of a popular track from the last few months.
Hozier chose Arctic Monkeys’ Do I Wanna Know and we were a bit sceptical because we love that song so much. However, the Irishman completely rearranged it to give the song a brand new twist and it’s incredible. Sit back and enjoy…
