The strikes keep on coming.

This summer has seen Ryanair pilots take strike action on several different occasions as a result of decisions by Irish pilots union IALPA.

This Friday, Ryanair pilots who are part of the German union Vereinigung Cockpit will strike for 24-hours — a move which will result in the cancellation of roughly 250 flights. A statement made by the union has confirmed that the strike will encompass pilots from Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and Sweden.

Ryanair has issued a statement on the strike, calling it “unnecessary.” Vereinigung Cockpit has stated that their concerns relate to “improvements in pay and working conditions,” adding the Ryanair has categorically ruled out any possibility of an increase in staff costs.

Ryanair has also confirmed that all affected customers have been notified.
