Irishman shot dead by police in Germany

The Department of Foreign Affairs are providing consular assistance.

An Irishman has died after being shot by police in Germany, the Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed.

It’s understood the man died on Wednesday, but further details about the incident are unclear at the time of writing.

A spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs released the following statement to JOE:

“The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is aware of the case and is providing consular assistance.”
