A plague of rats have invaded a suburban area of an Irish town

This makes our skin crawl

*JOE shrieks in horror*

We like to think we’re brave enough boyos here in JOE Towers, but one of the things that we cannot cope with is rats #KantKope

The only rat we can stand is Splinter from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, mainly because he’s a cartoon rat.

A real life rat is a different kettle of rat fish and that’s why a story in the Belfast Telegraph has given us the heebie geebies.

According to the report, a plague of rats is threatening to overrun the leafy suburban Sourhill area of Ballymena in Antrim.

Residents have been warned to keep their doors shut while local authorities try and tackle the problem

This particular line in the article really gave us the jimmies: “Pictures show rats roaming close to homes in broad daylight, with videos showing them scurrying past dog walkers close to a golf course in the area.”

The residents fear their homes will be overrun by the summer if the rats aren’t culled quickly.

They’ve set up a Facebook page where they’re posting pictures and videos of the rats.

We hope that the situation gets sorted as quickly as possible.

That is our worst nightmare.
