12 of the funniest Twitter reactions to the Bank of Ireland ATM fiasco
As usual when something wild happens in this country, Irish Twitter stepped up.
Social media lit up on Tuesday night (15 August) when a Bank of Ireland technology glitch allowed its customers with no money in their accounts to withdraw funds.
The online mishap (which you can read more about right here) led to huge queues up at ATMs around the country as reports suggested that customers could withdraw up to €1,000 in "free money".
That said, Bank of Ireland has warned that anyone who tried to exploit the glitch in a bid to get free money will be debited the amount from their accounts. The bank has also said that its normal services have since been resolved.
This, however, has done little to quell Irish Twitter which - as usual during a fiasco - was quick to respond to the situation with hilarity.
Here is some of funniest jokes reacting to the chaos.
