This a brave thing to do, and he’s trying to raise money in the process.

Actor Barry Keoghan has announced that he’s doing his bit for homelessness in Ireland this weekend.

He tweeted on Tuesday night that he would be sleeping rough on Friday night in an attempt to raise awareness for the homeless crisis.

Keoghan also urged people to donate whatever they can to Focus Ireland, saying: “Me & five other people be sleeping out on cardboard boxes Friday night and we need your help! Any donations small or large would mean so much. We need your help to help the homeless.”

Fair play to him.

Just last week we reported that according to a survey, Ireland’s national housing emergency and homelessness is the country’s biggest concern ahead of the upcoming national budget.

As well as that, less than a month ago we reported that there was 9,891 homeless people living in Ireland.

3,867 of the people represented in that statistic are children.

If you are looking to find out more information about what Keoghan is doing, or looking to donate to Focus Ireland in general, you can visit their official website here.
