The best 3-star, 2-star and city hotels were also named.
Killeavy Castle Estate in Newry has been crowned the 4 Star Luxury Hotel of the Year by the Irish Hotel Awards.
Established to celebrate the best and brightest of the hospitality industry in Ireland, the awards show took place this week at the Radisson Blu Hotel and Spa in Sligo.
Speaking about the contenders this year, Shane Smith – the director of NI Media who runs the ceremony said in a statement:
“The Irish Hotel Awards is now recognised as a benchmark of quality for properties in Ireland. All our members have been rigorously inspected by a team of researchers who are dedicated to promoting and developing the industry.
“Our members have been assessed and judged at the highest standards and the quality out there is simply magnificent.”

Also honoured on the night was the Dingle Skellig Hotel in Kerry, which won the 4 Star Hotel of the Year award.
This was as establishments in Galway took home both the 3 Star Hotel of the Year and 2 Star Hotel of the Year prizes.
These awards went to the Hyde Hotel in Galway city and Murray’s Doonmore Hotel in Inishbofin.
Meanwhile, the ceremony’s new prize of City Hotel of the Year was awarded to the Ashling Hotel in Dublin.
