The body of a man has been discovered in Fermoy, County Cork

The body of a man was discovered at a garage on the Dublin Road, Fermoy, last night.

Gardaí were called to the scene of a truck parking area at the garage last night at 10:30pm on Tuesday night.

The deceased man, believed to be in his 40s, reportedly suffered head injuries.

A second man was taken to Cork University Hospital but his injuries are described as non-life threatening.

According to a Garda statement, two males were arrested at the scene and are currently being detained at Fermoy and Mallow Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The scene on the Pike Road has been cordoned off and a full forensic examination will be carried out later on Wednesday.
