An online appeal has been launched to help raise money for the families left devastated by the tragedy in Buncrana.

The appeal has been set up by Buncrana resident Michelle Black who said “There’s no words we can say or anything we can do to change what happened … But what we can do is help show our support to the family of the victims x.”

Meanwhile, the remains of the five victims of Sunday night’s tragedy have arrived in Derry.

Sean McGrotty, 49, his sons Mark, 12, and Evan, 8, his mother-in-law Ruth Daniels, 59, and her daughter, Jodie Lee, 14 all died when the car in which they were travelling slipped off Buncrana Pier and into Lough Swilly.

Sean’s four-month-old daughter Rionaghac-Ann survived the tragic accident, having been rescued by local man Davitt Walsh.
