Unparliamentary language at its finest.

There was furious scenes in the Dáil on Wednesday evening, November 22, as a TD dropped a number of furious ‘F-bombs’ following an interruption from Danny Healy-Rae.

During proceedings on Wednesday evening, Deputy Healy-Rae spoke on the topic of Ireland’s foreign policy, expressing his concerns over “unvetted immigrants”, claiming that there were “more men coming in than women” to his constituency. During his speech, he shouted, “We want to know where they’re coming from”.

Deputy Pringle then took up his turn to speak against the Consultative Forum on International Security Policy, which examined Ireland’s agility and responsiveness to the maintenance of international peace and security.

At the beginning of his speech, Deputy Pringle said, “I just want to say before I start that I want to be totally disassociated from any comments that have previously been made in the chamber. I think it’s an absolute disgrace, so I just want to make that clear before I go on.”

While attempting to proceed with his speech, Deputy Pringle was interrupted by Healy-Rae, who was shouting about the “people of Kerry” who were not being listened to, to which Pringle replied:

“Well it’s obvious you don’t f***ing listen to anything anybody says. So if next time you open your f***ing ears instead of your mouth, you might understand what people are saying.”

The interaction is reminiscent to the classic incident which occurred in the Dáil in 2009, when TD Paul Gogarty told the Dáil, “With all due respect, in the most unparliamentary language, f*ck you Deputy Stagg! F*ck you!” which was aimed at Labour TD Emmet Stagg.
