The incident took place nearly a week ago.
A week ago it was reported that Demi Lovato was ‘awake and talking’ following a drug overdose.
However, TMZ has since reported that Lovato is still in hospital following ‘complications’ six days after initially being admitted to hospital.
Doctors have not decided when she can be released from the hospital, but one source told TMZ that, “She is under the care of medical experts and is expected to make a full recovery.”
People magazine have also said that: “Demi wasn’t doing well over the weekend. She came down with a fever and showed signs of infection. She is currently being treated for issues that are very common after a drug overdose.”
“She will need to stay in hospital for a few more days, but is expected to make a full recovery.”
One of Lovato’s backup dancers who has received criticism for the incident has penned an open letter urging people to remain positive in such a difficult time.
Dani Vitale defended herself as well, saying: “I was not with Demi when the incident happened, but I am with her now, and will continue to be because she means the world to me just as she does to all of you.”
