A young man has died and a woman has been seriously injured in a Donegal crash on Sunday afternoon, Gardaí have confirmed.
In a statement, An Garda Síochána said:
The road is closed for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local traffic diversions are in place. The Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.

The collision, which involved a car and a 4x4, happened on the R232 at Fincashel, Pettigo at around 2.45pm on Sunday, 2 August. The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Letterkenny. A female passenger in her 20s was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, while the driver of the 4x4, a man in his 60s, was also taken to hospital to be assessed, as the Irish Mirror reported.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses, particularly road users with dash-cam or mobile phone footage from the R232 near Pettigo around the time of the collision, as the Irish Independent also reported.
